KStudent WP Test Blog # 2

Me being a sucker for gadgets, and a lover of my Samsung Epix SmartPhone, I decided to make a page just for it and all the freeware programs I use on it. I have posted on that page that I am doing the ROM update for the Epix. You can see the new page by clicking here or the link in the navigation menu on top right of the page. This update is taking much longer then I had thought, I would estimate around 3 - 4 hours to do it all and the a few more to re-install all of the programs that it wiped away from your memory. I do not know why they could not fix the problems without it wiping out everything else on the phones memory, but the I guess I am not a programmer yet either. I spent a good 45 minutes with the process on my new laptop I use for all of my work only to find out it would not work with a 64-Bit Windows Vista system. Sooo, I had to go and get the other laptop, yes the wife’s and now I am redoing all of the downloading and such and now sitting watching that program say Waiting for the device… I am starting to get a headache from all of the nonsense, and I know since my PHONE is what I am trying to fix I can not call Samsung and see what the SNAFU is. Weill I am giving this thing 5 more minutes and if I get that same waiting for the device…. screen, Imma just call it a night it is already 3:20a.m and I have a nice cozy bed just calling my name.  O.k. well it is 3:28 and I still have same message guess I was just destine to have the ROM Update done some other time or wait a few more months and pick me up a new Smart Phone and begin all over again. I am giving up on it for tonight and going to bed. If I do get another phone it will run the Windows Mobile OS, I may give Windows Mobile 6.5 a whirl after it has had been through the paces some. I am thinking maybe a HTC, I have seen quite a few of them that are very nice. Anyways keep a check on the new page for the apps, and maybe I will attempt the update again one day, I may not even worry with it since the escalating ring-tone is the biggest issue I have that the fix will effect. If youhave an Epix and are not having tons of problems mainly the SLOG Dump error one I have never seen, maybe because I have a 4Bg micro-sd card for mine, who knows. I will see all of you bloggers and other folks some other time, as I said 30 minutes ago I am off to bed!!

Well tonight marks the end of week number four and the start of week number five. Since the terms are only ten weeks I am already half way through my second term. I got my paper from week 3 back today from my Composition teacher and I made a 89 on it . I know that is a high B and I should not be down about it, but that is the lowest grade I made in my college career and it bums me out just to be honest. I knew writing was not my strong suite, any of you who have followed the sites I work on for any amount of time can attest to that sad but true fact. I guess I just have to work harder on the next one is all I can do now.

My Foundations in Information Technology class is going well. The “maual” we are having to write, adding more parts to each week is now at 33 pages and 6,998 works and counting. That includes the cover page and three pages of sources from my research. I thought I had jumped in way over my head after the first week or two in this class, but the further along I get the better I feel about things.

I got my personal Facebook page up now, only have a few friends on it as of now so is a case of art imatating life I guess. I have had my Twitter up, but I do more with the business twitter than mu personal one. Just for the He#% of it my personal twitter is @KStudent and the business is @almobile . I do not know if any of you care to even know that but I am putting it out there cause hey…. this is MY Blog lol. Freedom of speach is a wonderful thing.

I have been playing with the new Dreamweaver CS4 and the rest of the goodies in my Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium and you can click the link to see what all it has. I just have 2 comments on it.

OK well I guess I am going to have to get me some sleep tonight. See all of you in blogville some other time, check back for more of my mindless ramblings another day.

OK, it has been a little while sine I made a post so I figured it was time for a little update. It is already week # 4 in my second term at Kaplan University and we only have 10 weeks per term. This term I have College Composition for IT majors and Foundations in Information Technology. These two classes may not be as fun to me as say my first term web design class was, but that is most likely because they are a lot like work and the web design was much more like ummm well fun to me. Writing is one of those things you do not think about much, until the day comes that the professor says “class you have an essay due in two weeks and here is your topic…..WRITE”. That is when it becomes something you start to ponder and for me when the writers block kicks in. The first essay we did was a narrative essay so was pretty much just telling a story from our own life, no real research was needed and you have very loose guidelines to go by. This one I have to start on now however is a process essay where you have to take the reader through the steps in a process. This was all fine to me and I had the great Idea, “hey since I know some about web design I can do a paper on making a website, maybe tell the differences in just a regular HTML/XHTML page and a Content Management System like I use on KStudent.com/x/ and ALMobileHome.com. Then when the professor said it needed to be two to three pages and not over 5 I had to rethink that quickly, so I will be telling how to make a very basic web-page for say family and friends to look at and keep up with what is new in your life (Kinda like a blog page). That I am hoping I can keep to the 2 -3 page limit he suggested and surely under the 5 he said do not go over period.
